The Armenian Foreign Ministry have contacted three citizens of Armenia in Libya so far, said spokesperson for the foreign office.

Talking to Armenian News-NEWS.am Tigran Balayan said they had been transported to a safe place.  Presently they are in safety.

Tigran Balayan stressed that foreign office keeps in touch with the embassies in the Middle East. 

Yesterday one citizen of Armenia was reported to contact the embassy.

Riots in Libya are ongoing from February 15. Protesters are demanding the overthrow of the Muammar Gaddafi, who runs the country for over 40 years.

In a televised statement late on Monday Libya’s President Muammar Gaddafi said he had not fled the country and is in Tripoli at the moment.
