Rich people must pay high taxes and pay more money to the budget, said Vardan Aivazyan, Chairman of the Economic Committee, RA Parliament. The Government has social tasks to accomplish. Also, rich people lose more in emergencies than poor people, he said.

There is not "tax on riches" in Armenia. According to the Ministry of Territorial Administration, the richest landowners accumulate the largest arrears.

Aivazyan said that a new tax code of Armenia is to embrace all the tax laws of Armenia currently in effect. "One document will comprise all the laws to help economic entities find particular taxes," Aivazyan said. However, he did not say when the new draft will be put on the agenda.
