Ice-skating ring in the center of Yerevan closed on February 22 due to warm weather, told the Director of the Water Structures of Yerevan Municipality to Armenian News - NEWS.am.
According to Michael Vardanyan, the artificial ice can be maintained at a maximum of 6C, whereas at higher temperatures of recent days and periodic rains the system is not able to maintain the ice. “Last year, the rink also stopped operations in February”, said Vardanyan, reminding that the rink opened on December 17.
He also reported that this winter the skating rink had 10% more visitors than last year.
