“Armenia must become a country rendering knowledge-based serves,” Armenian Premier Tigran Sargsyan told Armenian TV channels.

According to him, one of the government’s priorities for the next ten years is education. “During the next ten years we must have ten universities that would meet the best international standards. If we fail to accomplish this task, we will have no future as a nation,” the Armenian Premier said.

He cited the example of the United State, a knowledge-based developing economy. “The U.S. transferred production to China because production is cheaper there. The U.S is a service producer and the supply their innovation services to the entire world,” the Armenian Premier said. He stressed that such services are impossible to render without knowledge.

“This is economy of the future,” Tigran Sargsyan said.

The Armenian Premier said he is bringing his children up, with focus on their intellectual development. “It is only knowledge that will help them to live in this rapidly changing world. And I call on all parents to do the same. A man can lose his money in the twinkling of an eye, whereas he will retain his knowledge for ever,” the Armenian Premier said.
