Abolishment of the posts of EU special representatives in the South Caucasus will not reduce organization’s involvement in the region, said the head of EU office in Baku.

“The EU is being changed institutionally. Thus, the organization is being changed and developed. One thing is clear. Eliminating the position of Special Representative for the South Caucasus is not a sign to reduce the involvement of EU in the region,” Trend News quotes Roland Kobia.

Roland Kobia stressed the EU will remain committed to values and interests it wants to promote in the region.

Outgoing Special Representative for the South Caucasus Peter Semneby has recently paid his last regional visit. His mandate expires on February 28.
