King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia intends to buy Facebook social networking site. Information was not officially confirmed but world media outlets spread news referring to the Egyptian and Iranian press.
His motivation is not to allow organization of “day of rage” scheduled for March 11 by Saudi bloggers. The authorities fear it may facilitate social unrest.
The experts say Facebook is valued at $50 billion, while King Abdullah offered $150 billion.
Mass riots in the Middle East were mainly staged via social networking websites and partially broke out with the creation of anti-government groups on Facebook.
