The case of 27 October 1999 is complete in the legal sense, and the judicial act can be reviewed exclusively after observing the newly emerged circumstances. This is what Armenia’s Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan told journalists on 5 March, touching upon the possibility of reopening the case of 27 October 1999.

The Prosecutor General clarified that investigation has to be conducted after the newly emerged circumstance has been detected.

On October 27, 1999, Eduard Grigoryan, Nairi and Karen Hunanyans, their uncle Vram Galstyan and other members of their group broke into the National Assembly and executed 8 MPs and a government official.

The court ruling over the case of 27 October 1999 was announced on 2 December 2003. According to the court ruling, 6 people were sentenced to life imprisonment, and one person was sentenced to 14 years in prison.
