On March 3, a group of demonstrators gathered in front of the building of the Armenian Government and protested against banning all forms of street trade in Yerevan. Armenian MPs from Heritage Party Anahit Bakhshyan, Zaruhi Postanjyan and Armen Martirosyan also participated in the protests.
Over 40 policemen led by Deputy Police Chief Robert Melkonyan attacked the protestors. Melkonyan himself hit Armenian MP Zaruhi Postanjyan. They also attacked Vardges Gaspar, an activist of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) and brought him to police, Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent reports. The policemen pushed back the demonstrators, a woman was taken to hospital.
In a conversation with Armenian News-NEWS.am, Zaruhi Postanjyan said Anahit Bakhshyan felt bad and doctors helped her.
