“Jesse Bender, 13, was taken into protective custody, as the authorities decide whether to file charges against her family,” msnbc website reports.

Jesse’s mother reported her missing on February 22. She told the detectives that her daughter did not want to go on a 2-month vacation to her father’s native Pakistan.

“Investigators have been searching for the 13-year-old girl for more than a week. Her family feared she had run away with someone she chatted on Facebook. Fortunately, the police found her unharmed in a hotel on Wednesday. Jesse said she had been hiding to avoid being forced into an arranged marriage in Pakistan,” the source says.
