Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham Aliyev will hold a meeting in the Russian city of Sochi today to discuss the Karabakh conflict. The meeting is held at the initiative of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.

It was noted in Kremlin that “stability in the line of contact would contribute to resolution of the Karabakh conflict. In this regard the leaders can exchange views on implementation of the Astrakhan statement which stipulates that settlement of the conflict through political and diplomatic means will require further efforts to strengthen ceasefire and confidence-building measures in military sphere.”

Another Armenian soldier was killed yesterday from a shot of an Azerbaijani sniper. Official Baku has steadfastly refused to accept the mediators’ proposal to remove snipers from the line of contact.
