The Four-Day Artsakh War of April 2016 showed that there is always a need to enhance military potential. This is what former MP Khosrov Harutyunyan told journalists at Yerablur Military Pantheon on 2 April. According to him, in April 2016, Armenians became the witnesses of a large-scale military operation, but the adversary didn’t achieve its goal.

“Anything can happen in extraordinary military situations. The important thing is the result. We suffered fewer casualties than the adversary, which, in essence, made a failed attempt to solve the issue with the help of military forces. This failed attempt will keep them away from the temptation to settle the conflict through the military for a long time,” he stated. Touching upon the latest statement of Armenia’s defense minister, Khosrov Harutyunyan said it was worth mentioning that the defense minister made the statement in the US and ahead of the anniversary of the events of 2016. “Davit Tonoyan stated that if Azerbaijan continues to solve the issue through military forces, this will make the adversary lose new territories. In addition, military operations can cause more casualties. I think this is what Davit Tonoyan meant,” he concluded.
