A country may pursue only one foreign policy, said Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during the government meeting on Thursday.
His remarks came during the introduction of the draft law on amendments to the Law on Diplomatic Service.
The draft law was introduced by the Armenian Deputy FM Grigor Hovhannisyan.
According to him, thanks to the proposed change, it will be possible to ensure that the diplomatic service officials receive the status of diplomatic employees when their move from the Foreign Ministry to the offices of the Armenian President and the Parliament as well as occupy public posts.
Pashinyan, in his turn, highlighted the importance of the draft law as the Government must ensure the unity of foreign policy actions, and this policy must comply with the Cabinet policy.
“A country may pursue only one foreign policy, which is developed by the Government, and state bodies in all their foreign policy contacts should remain clearly within this framework,” the PM concluded.
