The Armenian government is leading a “pro-Putin” foreign policy. This is what politician Armen Badalyan said during an April 12 press conference.

According to him, in essence, the aim of Nikol Pashinyan’s foreign policy is to prove to Vladimir Putin that the political changes in Armenia took place without the intervention of external forces.

“We see this in the sharp statements that the Armenian authorities, particularly the Ministry of Foreign Affairs make when the West or Western institutions react strongly to the events taking place in the Republic of Armenia.

An example of this was the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in response to the discontent of certain European countries in relation to the statements and actions that followed the speech by a transgender in parliament. However, the Armenian authorities don’t respond to the statements of high-ranking Russian officials or to the biased Russian TV shows devoted to Armenia,” Badalyan said.
