On 15 April, the United Nations General Assembly unanimously adopted the Resolution on cooperation between the United Nations and the International Organization of La Francophonie, the talks on which at the UN were facilitated by Armenia, the chairing country of the Francophonie Summit.

Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs told Armenian News-NEWS.am that Deputy Permanent Representative of Armenia to the United Nations Sophia Simonyan submitted the Resolution for approval during the plenary session of the General Assembly and stated that the Resolution addresses the ties and multi-sector cooperation between the United Nations and the International Organization of La Francophonie and recaps the main results of the 17th Francophonie Summit held in Yerevan.

In their speeches devoted to adoption of the Resolution at the General Assembly, the representatives of several delegations expressed gratitude to Armenia for chairing the Francophonie Summit and effectively organizing the active process of negotiations over the draft Resolution at the United Nations.
