Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan arrived on a two-day visit to Latvia on Wednesday at the invitation of his Latvian counterpart Valdis Zatlers.

During the meeting the two presidents stressed Armenia-Latvia political dialogue intensified, while relations in the field of education, culture and other spheres developed over the recent years, presidential press service informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Speaking of the Latvian president’s visit to Armenia in 2009, the sides noted a number of the reached agreements are being implemented. As to Serzh Sargsyan’s current visit to Latvia its objective is to continue efficient dialogue to develop friendly relations in the future.

The leaders also stressed necessity of creation an Armenian-Latvian inter-governmental committee, as well as embassies in Yerevan and Riga.   

Serzh Sargsyan and Valdis Zatlers signed 2011-2013 Armenia-Latvia program of cooperation in culture, as well as agreement on cooperation between the foreign ministries.
