The rise of the customs duty for cement imported from Iran to Armenia will compel importers to obtain high-quality cement only from Iran. This is what Minister of Economic Development and Investments of Armenia Tigran Khachatryan declared in response to the question from deputy of the My Step alliance Sergey Atomyan, who asked about the quality of Iranian and Armenian cements.

The minister clarified that obtaining cheaper and more low-quality cement won’t be favorable for importers due to the rise of the customs duty since, in this case, they won’t be able to ensure dignified competition with local producers and will have to start purchasing high-quality products.
