U.S. dislikes thaw in relations between Georgia and Iran, Georgian expert says.
Mamuka Areshidze, expert for Caucasus issues, says Pentagon has information about planned drug supply route to Turkey and other countries through the territory of Azerbaijan and Georgia, Georgia Online news agency writes referring to Kviris Palitra newspaper.
“Americans are shocked by the quantity of drugs coming from Georgia and they realize that drugs from Afghanistan are supplied to Europe through Georgia and Azerbaijan. A new format of Iran-Georgia relations, as well as lifting of visa regime angers guys from U.S.,” the expert says.
According to him, the U.S. governmental structures have warned Georgia of their discontent with a new tendency, stressing it is dangerously explosive for Tbilisi.
