Another Georgian serviceman was killed, two others injured in Afghanistan. As a result of mine explosion, corporal Valeri Verskiani was killed, whereas captain Alud Seturidze and corporal Revaz Gorgodze were injured, Georgia Online reports referring to Georgian Defense Ministry.
The Georgian Defense Ministry conveys condolences on the occasion of the serviceman’s death during the peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan. He served in the 32nd battalion of Georgian armed forces in Helmand province. He received treatment in Germany (the man had three wounds on his neck).
It is noteworthy Georgian Parliament approved Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili’s proposal to send 11 artillerymen to Afghanistan.
A total of 955 Georgian servicemen are servicing in Afghanistan.
