On March 17, a 5.3 magnitude earthquake hit Chile, 135 km north-west of Santiago, U.S. Geologocal Survey (USGS) reports.

The quake epicenter was 72 km north-east of port city of Valparaiso at the depth of 24.7 kilometers.

There were no reports of injured or casualties, RIA Novosti reports.
