Ford Motor intends to create a production research center and operations center in the eastern Chinese province of Jiangsu, Xinhua News Agency reported.

Both centers will be created based on an engineering research center that has already been operating since 2017 in Nanjing, which is one of the nine largest production and research facilities in the world.

In the next three years, the American manufacturer intends to offer Chinese consumers about 30 new cars under the Ford and Lincoln brands, over 10 of which will receive electric motors.

Over the past few years, many major Chinese and global players in the automotive industry have settled in Nanjing. In this metropolis, an integrated production network has been created, which also includes research centers, product distribution channels, and logistics infrastructure. The volume of car production in Nanjing amounted to about 900 thousand units in 2018.
