U.S. President Donald Trump said he did not want to meet with Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif at the G7 summit in Biarritz, RIA Novosti reported quoting Reuters.

“Too early,” Trump commented on a possible meeting.

According to Trump, French President Emmanuel Macron asked him to approve Zarif's arrival at the G7 summit. Trump added that he wants to see Iran a strong state and is not seeking a change of power in the Islamic Republic.

Zarif’s Sunday visit to France came as a surprise, as a couple of days ago the Iranian foreign minister sited Paris, where he held talks with President Macron. They discussed the situation over nuclear deal and exchanged proposals for its implementation amid Tehran’s demands to ensure its effectiveness after the U.S. withdrawal from the agreement and imposing sanctions against Iran.
