Two Reuters reporters have been missing in Syria since March 26, when they were supposed to return to Lebanon, the news agency reports.
Reuters producer Ayat Basma and cameraman Ezzat Baltaji were to go to Lebanon on Saturday. The journalists are Lebanese nationals. They “have been out of coverage since Saturday night,” the agency said on March 27.
Reuters editor-in-chief Stephen Adle said they contacted the Syrian authorities and asked for their help in securing the reporters’ safe return home.
The reporters were traveling in Syria to cover the turbulence in the country.
