Armenia has received a letter from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) telling about Azerbaijan’s concerns regarding operation of Stepanakert airport. Spokesperson for the Armenian Civil Aviation Department Nelly Cherchinyan confirmed information for Armenian News-NEWS.am.
However, she refused to disclose the details. Cherchinyan also declined to comment whether the Armenian General Department of Civil Aviation will reply to the letter.
Stepanakert’s airport will start its operation from May 9, 2011. Recently Azerbaijan has threatened to shoot aircrafts flying to Nagorno-Karabakh.
At today’s press conference Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said Azerbaijan’s threats are ridiculous.
