Iran cuts ties with the Louvre Museum, accusing French authorities of violating their commitment.

Under an agreement between Tehran and Paris, the museum should have sent some Persian artifacts to Tehran  to set up an exhibition but failed to do so for unknown reasons, a senior Iranian official said.

According to him, several years ago Tehran sent exhibits to the Louvre in exchange for them setting up their Persian artifacts in Iran, Lenta.ru reports.

"Iran does not allow European countries to look down on us; this concern the cultural sphere as well," the official said.
