Congress invited U.S. President Donald Trump to the first impeachment hearing on December 4, BBC News reported.

Member of the Judicial Committee of the House of Representatives for the Democratic Party, Jerrold Nadler, said the president could either attend the hearing or stop complaining about the process.

According to him, Donald Trump will be able to interrogate witnesses.

Democrats in Congress began impeaching Trump for allegedly putting pressure on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to investigate Trump's political opponent, former vice president Joe Biden. They accuse the president of stipulating the provision of military assistance to Kyiv. Trump, in turn, says he just urged the Ukrainian authorities to fight corruption and did not put forward any conditions.

If the House of Representatives votes for impeachment, the Senate will undergo a trial of Trump under the leadership of Supreme Court Chair John Roberts. According to the results, a vote will be held, where impeachment and removal of Trump from power will require two-thirds of the votes of senators. At the moment, Republicans are not going to vote for the removal of Trump.
