Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan today received Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Armenia Petr Mikyska.

During the meeting, Ararat Mirzoyan welcomed the Czech Republic’s ratification of the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement and stated that Armenia has high hopes that the Czech Republic will also assist in the launch of dialogue over visa liberalization.

The parliamentary speaker expressed gratitude to the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic for adopting a resolution recognizing and condemning the Armenian Genocide and voiced hope that the Czech Senate will do the same soon.

The Ambassador expressed gratitude for the cordial reception, emphasized that the Czech Republic and Armenia have great potential for economic cooperation and attached importance to the expansion of trade and economic partnership. He assured that the Czech Republic supports the democratic reforms underway in Armenia and is ready to develop relations in the bilateral and multilateral (EU Eastern Partnership) formats and help Armenia in all areas of reforms.
