YEREVAN. – Within the framework of the session of a Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) standing committee, member of the Armenian delegation Mikayel Melkumyan had a working meeting with deputy chairman Pyotr Tolstoy of the Russian State Duma, during which issues of mutual interest were discussed. This is reported from the office of Melkumyan, a member of the opposition Prosperous Armenia faction at the National Assembly of Armenia.
A report on human rights and entrepreneurship by member of the Azerbaijani delegation, Elshad Hasanov, was also discussed at the PACE standing committee meeting on November 29.
Melkumyan spoke as the opponent of the report, and he managed to unanimously incorporate numerous suggestions into the report. Melkumyan succeeded in preventing wording not in Armenia's interest that would have been included in the initial version of this report.
