According to the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) monthly report, world food prices rose 6 percent in October 2019 compared to October of last year. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted this on his Facebook page.

"But food prices in Armenia went up [solely] 0.1 percent in October 2019 from the same period last year," he added. “This is mainly, if not exclusively, a consequence of deepening economic competition in the country.

By the way, out of all the countries observed by the RA National Statistical Committee, deflation was recorded only in Armenia in September this year, compared to December of last year.

In other words, inflation was recorded in all the noted countries, and prices solely in Armenia decreased by 2.1% in September this year, compared to December 2018."
