The United States and China have reached a breakthrough in trade negotiations, and the first part of the deal between the countries will be concluded very soon, said US President Donald Trump, speaking to students in Florida.

According to him, yesterday he spoke on the phone with President of China Xi Jinping, TASS reported.

Washington and Beijing December 13 agreed on the first phase of the trade deal. The US representative at the trade talks, Robert Leitheiser, told reporters that Trump agreed to indefinitely postpone the introduction of duties on imports of Chinese goods.

Leitheiser noted that the agreement will be signed in early January, most likely, by trade representatives of both countries, and not by the heads of state. According to him, the agreements reached will increase the volume of US exports to China by $ 200 billion over two years, and the US trade deficit will decrease.
