The October 27, 1999 case may soon be added to the March 1, 2008 case. Armenia’s ruling My Step alliance MP Andranik Kocharyan, who is also Chairman of the National Assembly  Standing Committee on Defense and Security, stated about this at a December 26 press conference.

According to him, one can see how the March 1 case proceeds, and how second president Robert Kocharyan’s team tries to assert its position to the end, delay the process so that the case remains up in the air.

The deputy noted that the case of October 27 may soon be added to this case. "We need to think about the capabilities of the investigative body and the investigative team to have a strong team, as many years have passed and some key witnesses have died in obscure circumstances," Kocharyan added. "But there are also people who give very important testimonies."

On October 27, 1999, a group of terrorists, led by Nairi Hunanyan, stormed into the National Assembly building and opened fire killing several members of parliament and government. Their trial was held from 2001 to 2003, with the prosecution seeking capital punishment, but the death sentence in Armenia was abolished in September 2003, and as a result of membership in the Council of Europe.
