The Russian Prosecutor General's Office has decided not to confirm the indictment on the case of the Khachaturyan sisters, who are accused of killing their father, Kommersant and TASS reported, citing law enforcement sources.

According to Kommersant, the prosecutor's office has found several violations in the indictment, so the case will not yet be sent to the court for consideration. It is not reported exactly what these shortcomings are, but they are probably related to the qualification of the case.

Now the case must be returned to the Investigative Committee. Kristina Khachaturyan's lawyer, Aleksey Liptser, told Novaya Gazeta that the defense has not yet been informed about the case being returned to the Investigative Committee.

On December 3, the Investigative Committee completed its investigation into the girls' case. The investigators concluded that the killed Mikhail Khachaturyan had caused his daughters physical and mental suffering, which could be qualified as a mitigating factor in the murder.
