A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6,1 hit eastern part of Honshu Island of Japan.

According to seismologists, the quake epicenter was 190 km east of Morioka city in Iwaki prefecture, 537 km of Tokyo, at the depth of 11,2 km, RIA Novosti reports.

There are no reports of injured. No tsunami warning was issued.

On March 11, the largest earthquake (9 magnitude) in the recent years hit the northeast of Japan, triggering a 10-meter tsunami and followed by several powerful aftershocks. The epicenter is located 373 to north-east from Japan’s capital, Tokyo at the depth of 24 kilometers. A massive earthquake damaged cooling functions of the Fukushima nuclear plant, making the operator to pour seawater into reactors and let out radioactive air into atmosphere.

Over 15,013 people remain missing as Japan marked one month after a devastating earthquake and tsunami hit the country on March 11. According to latest data, the death toll reached 13,300. A total of 400 aftershocks were registered in the country following the massive quake.
