YEREVAN. - The Armenian parliament discussed on Thursday amendments to the Criminal Code of Armenia, which envisage severer punishment for grave crimes and mitigation of preventive punishment for minor crimes.
Armenian Deputy Prosecutor General Mnatsakan Sargsyan stated in parliament that the amendments envisage severer punishment for murder.
If the amendments are approved, over 1,000 prisoners will have their sentences reviewed.
