YEREVAN. - Over 31,000 Iranians visited Armenia over the recent four months, said representative of Armenia’s Ministry of Economy.
Head of tourism department at the Economy Ministry Mekhak Apresyan said that 28,000 Iranian tourists visited Armenia this March against 25,000 in the same period of last year, stressing it is the month when they celebrate Novruz holiday (Iranian new year).
Apresyan added that public opinion poll held among 101 Iranian tourists showed that around 70% of Iranians came to Armenia with their families. The main age group is 30-40. Asked whether they will advice to visit Armenia, 72 people responded positively. According to the poll, an average Iranian tourist spends $1,600 during ten days.
