Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan today had a meeting with Prime Minister of Moldova Ion Chicu in Almaty.
At the outset, the Prime Minister of Armenia congratulated Ion Chicu on being appointed Prime Minister of Moldova. “Of course, our countries have great political ties, but, unfortunately, we can’t take pride in the level of our trade and economic relations. However, I believe we need to raise the level of economic ties and the trade turnover, and this can be solved in the 21st century,” Pashinyan emphasized.
In his turn, Prime Minister of Moldova Ion Chicu stated that Armenia and Moldova have great potential to enhance their economic ties because both countries have advantages in certain directions. “Taking into consideration the fact that Armenia is enterprising, we can take advantage of that opportunity. Of course, Moldova and Armenia are at the same level in certain areas, but we are by no means competitors. Moldovans can only praise Armenian brandy,” Chicu said, adding that the countries can accelerate the development of bilateral ties in different directions. Chicu also invited Nikol Pashinyan to visit Moldova.
