YEREVAN. - Armenian society is, to an extent, nihilistic which affects the country`s international rankings, Director of the Synopsys Armenia Company Hovik Musaelyan told journalists on Monday.

According to him, although Armenia ranks 109th in the WB-released network readiness index, its real ranking is between 70th and 80th. However, most of the 100 Armenian businessmen involved in the survey gave unfavorable answers, which affected Armenia`s ranking.

"The poll results are not objective in Azerbaijan because no one would dare be critical of the government. We have no problem like this," Musaelyan said.

He pointed out a number of achievements ignored in the network readiness index. Among them is the 4G system operated by the Viva-Cell Company and sophisticated technological projects by Synopsys Armenia.

He is critical of Armenian businessmen for being unwilling to use the government-offered novelties, such as e-management.

The World IT Report is most important, which, however, does not at all mean Armenia`s ranking must be "a standing joke," Musaelyan said.
