Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held phone talks on Tuesday with his Egyptian counterpart Samekh Shukri, TASS reported referring to Russian MFA.
The sides discussed the situation in Libya and Syria, as well as the prospects for a Middle East settlement.
A thorough exchange of views was held on the current situation in the Middle East and North Africa with an emphasis on the situation in Libya and Syria, as well as the prospects for a Middle East settlement in the light of the promulgation of the so-called deal of the century, the MFA said.
The ministers reaffirmed their commitment to continue close cooperation in the interests of overcoming crisis situations and ensuring peace in the region.
