On July 7, 2009 RA President Serzh Sragsyan signed a decree relieving Karen Nazaryan of the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Iran. Under another decree, Grigor Arakelyan has been appointed to this post.
Arakelyan was Advisor to RA Foreign Minister and Armenian Envoy to Iran. In 1999-2001, he was Advisor of the Armenian Embassy in Iran. He is Candidate of History, has a diplomatic rank of Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary.
