YEREVAN. - Members of the Jewish community of Armenia recognize the Armenian Genocide and call on all the nations and governments to recognize the fact of crime against humanity – 1915 Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire.

Ninety-six years is a long period but there are no limits for memory and recognition of nation’s tragedy, said Rimma Varzhapetyan-Feller, head of the Jewish community of Armenia.

According to her, actions of the Jewish community in Armenia are limited to extent that it is a non-governmental organization and can not make political decisions, but its members can express their attitude and indignation at failure to recognize the Armenian Genocide officially.

“Personally I repeatedly voiced the problem of recognizing Armenian Genocide and will continue doing it. We have already issued six official statements calling to recognize the Genocide. To date, there is enormous progress. We continue informing public about the fact of Genocide, which should positively affect the affirmation process,” she said.
