TOKYO. – A magnitude 5 earthquake hit Japan’s capital on Tuesday.  There are no reports of injured and damage. Japan National Meteorological Agency did not issue a tsunami threat.

The quake epicenter was south of Boso peninsula (Chiba Prefecture) at the depth of 100 km, vesti.ru reports.

On March 11, the largest earthquake (9 magnitude) in the recent years hit the northeast of Japan, triggering a 10-meter tsunami and followed by several powerful aftershocks. A massive earthquake damaged cooling functions of the Fukushima nuclear plant, making the operator to pour seawater into reactors and let out radioactive air into atmosphere
