YEREVAN. – The National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia today voted, in the first reading, on the package of bills intended to make amendments to the Criminal Code and related laws, the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent reports from parliament.

Under the package, hate speech and calls referring the country's territorial integrity shall be punishable by law in Armenia.

During the vote, 91 parliamentarians supported this legislative initiative, whereas 21 others abstained.
