The National Assembly of Armenia passed, in the first reading, the bill on making amendments to the law on NGOs, the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent reports from parliament.

A total of 88 deputies voted in favor of this bill, 14 others voted against it, and 3 MPs abstained.

Earlier presenting this legislative initiative, State Revenue Committee (SRC) chairman Davit Ananyan had stated that under the current regulations, only NGOs in Armenia that receive public funding submit an annual report on their activities, but from now on, all NGOs will be obligated to submit to the SRC an annual report regardless of their funding sources.

The requirements for the information provided in this annual report are also clarified by this bill.
