The National Assembly of Armenia today passed, in the first reading, the bill on making supplements to the Tax Code, Armenian News-NEWS.am’s correspondent reports from parliament.

A total of 100 parliamentarians voted in favor of this bill, 2 voted against it, and 4 MPs abstained.

The bill particularly concerns Master’s and PhD students who work and study. According to the bill, they will be able to pay off their tuitions through income tax. This will foster students’ employment and help students find jobs easily since they will have gained work experience.

However, the privileges proposed by the parliamentarians will only concern the professions that the Government will approve in advance. Moreover, the amount of the income tax will be returned only starting from September 1, 2020.
