Presidents of Russia and Syria Vladimir Putin and Bashar al-Assad held phone talks, reports RIA Novosti, citing the Kremlin’s press service.
The press service reports that the Russian leader informed his Syrian counterpart about the agreements reached during his talks with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan over the situation in Idlib yesterday in Moscow and stated that implementation of the agreements will allow for stabilization of the situation in the region.
Assad highly appreciated the results of the meeting of the Russian and Turkish leaders and expressed gratitude to Putin for supporting the fight against terrorism.
As a result of the talks held yesterday, Putin and Erdogan agreed on a joint document on the situation in Idlib.
