Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte said at least 16 million people have been quarantined in Lombardy and other 14 Italian provinces.

All public places, including gyms, pools, museums and ski resorts will be closed.

New measures will affect Milan and Venice and will last until April 3.

Italy is one of the countries most affected by novel coronavirus that has already killed 230 people in the country. The Italian authorities confirmed 5,883 coronavirus cases as of Saturday afternoon.
