Labor migrants won’t be able to leave Armenia for work abroad due to closed borders, as well as the lack of work in other countries due to the coronavirus. This is what President of the Union of Employers of Armenia, economist Gagik Makaryan told reporters today.

The analyst is certain that the government must take care of those people to disallow deterioration of the socio-economic situation in the country.

Moreover, he predicts gradual reduction of Armenia’s economic growth.

“The coronavirus has hit businesses, industries and the education sector, and this will lead to serious consequences,” the economist clarified.
