If the number of people infected with coronavirus grows significantly in Armenia, the country may face a food system collapse, like other countries. This is what President of the Union of Employers of Armenia, economist Gagik Makaryan told reporters today.

Moreover, according to him, it wouldn’t be right to blame Armenians for panicking since Armenia is a small country where people are more sensitive to such situations. He added that Armenians are rather “mobile people” and many of them returned to the homeland because of the threat of the coronavirus.

Getting back to the topic, Makaryan explained which products may become a deficit. According to him, the list may include first necessity items, foodstuffs and hygiene accessories.
