Representative of the Supreme Body of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutyun (ARF-D) political party Ishkhan Saghatelyan has posted the following on his Facebook page:

“Once again, we became convinced that the Armenian government doesn’t have control over the situation.

While the world economy is rolling into an indefinite crisis and the governments of various countries are taking specific steps to get out of the situation with minimum losses, the Armenian government says it believes this could open a new opportunity for the Armenian economy. Once again, the government showed that it is irresponsible and can’t respond adequately to the situation.

The government is probably unaware of the fact that all hotels, cafes, restaurants, transport companies and international airline companies in Armenia are on the brink of bankruptcy and that this will have a direct impact on all branches of economy. The government needs to get out of this situation with minimum losses, and for that it needs clear anti-epidemic mechanisms, that is, a target plan. If the government thinks this will all simply pass, the consequences will be graver.

The government simply needs to get serious and assess and realize the real problems facing the country.”
