Rumor has it that the mayor of a city with a population of 1,000,000 has isolated himself and refuses to perform his duties from his office. This is what head of the Light faction of the Council of Elders of Yerevan Davit Khazhakyan wrote on his Facebook page.

He particularly wrote the following:

“Dear colleagues, I will be going live to present several anti-epidemic actions that the municipal authorities need to perform.

Until then, I would like to ask the mayor to show us and the public that he is willing to return from leave and perform his duties so that we can work in a coordinated manner.

Yesterday the mayor of Etchmiadzin went live and addressed her citizens from her office, and this was commendable and necessary. Now, rumor has it that the mayor of a city with a population of 1,000,000 has isolated himself and refuses to perform his duties from his office. This can lead to a crisis of governance. Thus, the Council of Elders must know what to do.”
