YEREVAN. - The Chairwoman of the Armenia-Italy parliamentary group Sandra Chapman stated she drafted a bill on the Armenian Genocide, which will soon be submitted to Italian Parliament, the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

On April 20, Sandra Chapman and her aide proposed that the Italian Parliament declare April 24 a day in commemoration of the Armenian Genocide. Most of the MPs welcomed the idea.

Armenian Ambassador to Italy Ruben Karapetyan said that by refusing to establish diplomatic relations with Armenia, re-open the Armenian-Turkish border and ratify the Armenian-Turkish protocols, as well as by overtly supporting Azerbaijan in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Turkey does not contribute to peace and stability in the South Caucasus.
